How can one still be interested

1. How can anyone remain interested in this world?

I lost interest years back and have been trying to find it back since. But more and more I am led to believe that regaining it is not really possible. With random feelings guiding one's actions and no standards of right or wrong except that which makes one feel good being right, why act at all.

One can get into mindless routines, and not really live - that's possible. But what is it like to want to live.

Let us try to answer by observation. Assuming oneself has the answers needed, or so we have HEARD. Let us try and find out why 'I' am  specifically still here and presumably interested. Do I think I will voluntarily end my life today? Not likely. So I either have some interest or have inertia.

OK, let's probe inertia first.

2. Probing inertia

So assuming I am just under inertia, what does that mean? What am I afraid of -
Things being worse.

The body is starting to get old. It does not last - youth. And only so much is in my hands. The overall game is given and the universe does not care. The earth - the speck of dust will remain as it is whatever I do here. I can work to make people happy (bring more smiles as they say, which is just fancy words), but what does that mean - more pacified bodies. What does being peaceful mean?

Here - Fear of Failure.

That's what stops one. That's what favors status quo and boring choices.
Otherwise -
i. True that nothing may really matter, but that means just go out there and be, light as a feather!!
ii. Yes, it is the adrenaline that makes you work! It is the human state, but nothing pitiful about it.

The 'Pyaasa' dialogue

MS: Sab kuchh kyon thukra rahe ho? Thukrana hi hai to un logon ko thukrao jinse tumhe shiqayat hai!

GD: Khair...
Mujhe unse koi shiqayat nahi.. Mujhe kisi insaan se koi shiqayat nahi.. mujhe shiqayat hai samaj ke us dhanche se jo insan se unki insaniyat cheen leta hai... matlab ke liye apne bhai ko begana banata, dost ko dushman banata hai.

Mujhe shiqayat hai us tehzeeb se, us sanskruti se jahan murdon ko pooja jata hai, aur zinda insaan ko pairon tale rounda jata hai.. jahan kisi ke dukh dard pe do aansoo bahana buzdili samjha jata hai, chhup ke milna ek kamzori samjha jata hai.. aise mahaul mein mujhe kabhi shanti nahi milegi, isiliye main door ja raha hoon.

Movie review - Rajneeti

It is a stupid movie -- I dont stand by this review any more.

It is a drama. Paints a contemporary Indian political scenario taking plots from Mahabharat, Congress and Nehru-Gandhi family and - people who've seen Godfather say - Godfather. Overall, good. Go watch it.

Let me map the characters and rate the performances:

Arjun Rampal (Sanjay Gandhi, Yudhishthir) - awesome: has a well written complete role. Dresses well, looks good.

Ranbir Kapoor (Rajeev Gandhi, Arjun) - very good: never off the line.

Katrina Kaif (Panchali, Menaka Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi) - good: different role. Speaks Hindi with 'hum' replacing 'main' to tint a UP-Bihar tone.

Naseeruddin shah (Kunti's Surya dev) - 5 mins role

Ajay Devgan (Karna) - awesome: but has a sidelined role. Him you can relate to, but his character is not the lead in any sequence. Does not have scenes that only he dominates.

Nana Patekar (Krishna) - very good: has a role toned-down compared to the power he is capable of delivering.

Manoj Bajpai (Duryodhan) - has been made to act unrealistically. He plays the drama but you don't connect with him. That is probably because his character is stupid and has not even a single intelligent plan or sincere positive emotion to deliver.

Sara (foreign Sonia Gandhi) - plays her role well.

Story - awesome.

Dialogues - mostly good, restraint as they should be. One sequence is very badly done though - the Kunti-Karna tryst: they didn't have to pull lines straight out of Rashmirathi and put them into Kunti's mouth in archaic Hindi ("jyestha putra", she calls Ajay Devgan!).

Yes, again, overall good. Go watch it.
